Kim Tyssowski is has spent the last twenty-five years working with clay as a hobby. Kim has explored throwing on the wheel, handbuilding, sculpture, raku, clay monoprints and, most recently mosaics. Her current focus is on layering glazes to create interesting visual effects to enhance simple thrown forms. She uses mid-range brown stoneware and fire to cone six in an electric kiln. Each kiln load includes numerous tests of potential glazes and glaze combinations. This year, Kim is a guest artist for Down To The Potters House Studio, with Rachel Campbell.
